Legacies is the 2nd book in the Repairman Jack series. It was the first of his adult series that I read. It seems rather violent after just reading the YA novel Jack: Secret Histories, a prequel to the series. It’s hard to determine if Jack is a good guy or bad. I like the concept […]
I enjoyed this 2nd book in The Dresden Files more than the first. The murders Dresden (resident wizard, detective consultant extraordinaire) investigates have signs of wolf activity. Not too far in, it’s clear that the subject is werewolves, which may sound a little cliché, except that Butcher takes it a bit further than most authors. […]
I started reading The Dresden Files after watching SyFy Channel’s short-lived TV show based on the books. The show was done well, so I was less excited about this first book then I might have been otherwise. I see the characters from the show in my head as I read, and they are perfect. Dresden […]
The Last Battle approaches. While The Gathering Storm primarily tidied up loose ends that Robert Jordan left open in the previous book, Towers of Midnight is a sort of interim novel that sets everything up for the grand conclusion in the upcoming fourteenth installment. At long last, Rand is finally himself again. We got a […]
The film adaptation of T. A. Barron’s The Lost Years of Merlin, which has been in “Development Hell” for a few years now has jumped ship from Paramount and moved to Warner Brothers, who is fast becoming a major power in the fantasy film and video game industry. Big news! The Merlin movie project has […]
The trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is now online. Loosely based on Tim Powers’ novel One Stranger Tides, the film continues the story of Jack Sparrow and Barbossa…sans Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly. Oh, and Blackbeard (played by Ian McShane) will be in it as well. Interestingly, On Stranger Tides was […]
While watching the BBC’s Merlin, I noticed that in the latest season Morgana seems to make her ‘smirk of absolute evil’ quite too often. That lead me to the creation of this comic. © 2010 Dragonsden Comics
It’s finally here. Part one of the final Harry Potter movie. It has been almost ten years since I first saw Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, after reading the first few books and waiting impatiently for it to be released. Since then there have been many book and movie releases. After nearly a decade, […]
The Wertzone is reporting that Brandon Sanderson will soon be revisiting his Mistborn series. Sanderson has lately been working on a Mistborn novella as a side project, which is currently 60,000 words and may end up being longer by the time it is finished. Tor will be publishing it in 2011. If that isn’t enough […]
